Alaska Airlines is opening a new luxury lounge at San Francisco International Airport next year, complete with views of San Francisco Bay.
The 8,500-square-foot Alaska Lounge is in the works on the top floor of the airport’s Terminal 2 — Alaska Airlines’ first lounge in this terminal. It will include a barista station serving Starbucks coffee, afternoon tapas, made-to-order meals, West Coast wines and local micro-brewed draft beers. The lounge will also have high-speed WiFi, a fireplace seating area and concierge service.
“SFO is our second-largest hub with an average of 150,000 passengers flying on a daily basis, and we want to ensure airport visitors can rest, relax and enjoy our wide array of lounge offerings,” said Annabel Chang, vice president, Bay Area, Alaska Airlines.
Officials said the lounge’s regional theme and amenities are in line with the airline’s new New York (JFK) lounge (opened April 2018) and the flagship lounge at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport slated to debut in June 2019. The airline also is upgrading existing lounges in Portland (PDX), Anchorage (ANC), Los Angeles (LAX) and Seattle (SEA).
