Airlines across the world enter the summer season with new flights and services, further connecting the world for a year of unprecedented travel.

On June 5, British Airways launched an all-new service between Cincinnati (CVG) and London Heathrow. The airline will operate five flights per week during summer and reduce to four flights per week during winter. The new route marks the first non-stop flight between the United Kingdom and Ohio.

Qantas also launched a new route this summer. The airline returns to New York City for the first time since 2020, connecting travelers between New York (JFK) and Sydney (SYD) via Auckland. The first flight, via Boeing 787-9 aircraft, took off June 14 and runs three times a week this summer.

On July 1, LATAM and its joint venture Delta Air Lines launch a new route between São Paulo (GRU) and Los Angeles (LAX). This three-times-weekly service will be the only non-stop route between Brazil and Los Angeles and will be operated with the airline’s three-class 777-300ER aircraft.

As of June 18, Etihad welcomes Lisbon to its network of flights, adding a service between Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Lisbon (LIS) three times a week. The new service marks the 21^st European airport serviced by Etihad.

Budget airlines also join the season of travel. EasyJet launches flights between Birmingham, United Kingdom (BHX), and Milan, Italy (MXP), as of June 26. These flights operate Monday, Thursday and Sunday. This new route is the airline’s 11^th from Birmingham.

Earlier this year, JetBlue announced a new service between New York (JFK) and Paris (CDG). Service begins June 29 with daily flights between destinations. The route will be the airline’s second trans-Atlantic destination after its service to London, which launched August 2021.

On June 15, Vietnam Airlines welcomed a return flight from Melbourne (MEL) to Hanoi (HAN), establishing the beginning of a new, twice-weekly route between destinations using Airbus A350-900 aircraft.

United Airlines now offers seasonal flights between Newark (EWR) and Naples, Italy (NAP), through Sept. 7. The service launched June 23 and offers travelers more ways to enjoy a European summer trip.

Looking ahead to the end of summer and into fall, Delta Air Lines will launch direct flights from Los Angeles (LAX) and Auckland (AKL) beginning Oct. 28. Operated on an A350-900 aircraft, the flight will operate daily.

This November, American Airlines connects Miami (MIA) with Portland, Oregon (PDX), for the first time with twice-daily flights.
