Starting May 2025, Air Canada will offer free WiFi for North American flights, with the free service to debut on long-haul international routes in 2026. WiFi will be sponsored by Bell, which currently partners with Air Canada on the current free WiFi texting service available to Aeroplan members since 2023.
“Over 85% of aircraft will be connected from day one, with the remaining installations being a priority throughout 2025,” said Mark Nasr, executive vice president, marketing and digital, Air Canada.
Nasr acknowledged that, while other Canadian airlines also announced free WiFi services, not all of them have committed to offering this service comprehensively or sped up WiFi installation across their fleets. The fast and free WiFi will be available to Aeroplan members with plans to also implement the service on a Q400 aircraft, an industry first.
