Situated on Laguna Beach’s craggy coastline overlooking Main Beach, Casa Loma Beach Hotel officially opens to guests. A tribute to the area’s history, the new property features 70 guestrooms and debuts its multimillion-dollar rebrand and renovation.
The hotel, formerly known as The Inn at Laguna Beach, brings comfort and the colors of the sea into each guestroom, complete with custom beds, built-in desks, sofas, relaxed textiles, eye-catching throw blankets, Canyon Coffee pour-over set ups, amenities from D.S. & DURGA, and Tivoli Model One Radios. Thirty-eight of the guestrooms also include private balconies or patios, most of which look out across the Pacific Ocean and Main Beach below.
The hotel is one large, immersive art experience thanks to the hotel’s work with graphic and branding firm LAND, from the lobby mural to hand-painted tapestries in each guestroom. In the lobby lies the bar and lounge, promising views of the ocean with floor-to-ceiling windows. Casa Loma’s culinary offerings are semi-exclusive experiences only available to hotel guests and Laguna Beach residents, focusing on a European seaside food and beverage program. Guests are greeted with welcome drinks featuring Madre agave spirits. In the evening, old-world wines and cocktails are on offer, as well as cookies baked fresh by local favorite Rye Goods.

Oct 23, 2024Make Vail, Colorado, Your Autumn Escape
Boasting Colorado’s largest ski mountain and a charming, distinctly European vibe, Vail has become synonymous with stellar skiing and outdoor adventure on tap year-round. While I love Vail covered in powder, I recently made the drive up for an autumn visit to reacquaint myself with the area and enjoy the brilliant, deep gold blankets of aspens covering the mountainside slopes — an experience I highly recommend.

Oct 23, 2024The Salil Hotel Riverside Review
There are luxury hotels throughout Bangkok that deftly combine minimalist style, decorative accents, historic Thai iconography and luxuriant amenities. While Salil Hotel Riverside Bangkok, opened in late 2023, falls into the 5-star boutique hotel category, it is, by design, not a run-of-the-mill luxury property. The lobby makes an immediate impression, while different public spaces, rooms and suites immerse one into an ambiance rooted in Thai history, all while capturing a Bangkok that is a touch irreverent and forward-looking.

Oct 22, 2024Relieve Travel Stress with Wellness Treatments at Airline Lounges
Settling into the massage chair, I instantly feel the tension from the first flight of a long-haul travel day slip away. As the masseuse works out the knots in my neck and shoulders, I exhale deeply and sink into blissful relaxation. The massage concludes much too soon, but it does wonders in preparing my body for the next leg of my journey. Refreshed and energized, I make my way to the gate for my connecting flight.

Remarkable Medellín
Visiting Medellín in Colombia: The Country of Beauty is like stepping into a fantastic story — literally, as the city in the Western Colombian Andes region inspired Disney’s Encanto. Here, valleys, the world’s tallest palms, vibrant communities, colorful houses, garden-like balconies and more prove reality is more picturesque than anything on film. And it’s especially more tempting following Medellín’s remarkable transformation, shedding its troubled past and reawakening as a city of innovation, art, cultural richness, modern infrastructure, thriving tourism and resiliency.
