Next year, American Airlines rolls out nine new routes from major U.S. cities to popular destinations in Europe, making a dream European getaway even more of a reality.
For the 2019 summer season, American will operate the first non-stop flight between the United States and Croatia, capitalizing on the popularity of the Adriatic port city thanks to the hit television show Game of Thrones. Thrice-weekly flights will depart Philadelphia International Airport to Dubrovnik Airport in southern Croatia.
Other Europe-bound routes from Philadelphia begin next summer, taking travelers to Bologna, Italy (BLQ) (which also marks the first non-stop flight between the United States and the Italian city), to Germany’s Berlin-Tegel Airport and Scotland’s Edinburgh Airport.
New routes from Chicago O’Hare International Airport include non-stop flights to Athens (ATH), while residents of Charlotte (CLT), North Carolina, and Dallas (DFW), Texas, can fly directly to Munich (MUC), June 6–Oct. 26, just in time for Oktoberfest. Dallas travelers catch daily flights to Dublin (DUB), Ireland, beginning June 6.
The final new route will be available March 31–Oct. 26, operating between Phoenix (PHX) and London Heathrow Airport.
