Spend The Night With Wolves At New Lodge In Norway

Mar 21, 2016
Features

Spend a night with wolves while you search for the Northern Lights at the new Wolf Lodge in the popular arctic tourism hot spot of Narvik, Norway. The recently opened lodge offers a one-of-a-kind chance to observe wolves in their natural Arctic environment with the Night with The Wolves special from Off The Map Travel.

Nestled in a wolf enclosure at Polar Park, the world’s northernmost wildlife park, the cozy lodge keeps guests and wolves apart from each other only by wooden walls and oversized windows. During the day, supervised, face-to-face wolf interactions are offered, guided by a wolf expert. Located about 45 miles from the harbor town of Narvik, Polar Park is set in the heart of Salangsdalen Valley and is home to an extensive selection of native Arctic animals, including wolverine, Arctic fox, bears, lynx, reindeer and wolves.

Featuring a Scandinavian pine design inspired by modern Norwegian farmhouses, the rustic Wolf Lodge offers accommodations for 10 guests and features an open-plan area with a fully equipped kitchen and hand-crafted dining table as well as a living room with windows that offer glimpses of wolves. Five guestrooms and a shared bathroom are included on the lower level.

In addition to the Arctic wolf experience, guests can hunt for the Northern Lights from the warmth of the Wolf Lodge or as part of a new Lights at the Lodge gondola adventure. The gondola ride takes participants to a two-floor lodge at the mountain summit, where they can stay warm inside while enjoying refreshments and waiting for the colors of the Aurora or head outside and watch from one of the lodge’s three viewing platforms.

The four-day, three-night Night With The Wolves itinerary starts from $3,150 per person, based on four travelers, excluding flights. The program includes all transfers, one night at the new Wolf Lodge with dinner and a guide, a Wolf Kiss to meet the wolves face-to-face, accommodatiosn for two nights in a 4-star hotel with breakfast daily, a hunt for the Northern Lights from the hotel’s sky bar, a boat trip along the fjord to search for wildlife and the new Lights at the Lodge Aurora hunt up Narvik Mountain (Narvikfjellet) with a guide.

What’s New in Luxury Travel in Rome

Rome has always been a destination for art, history and culture, but, until recently, true luxury hospitality in the Eternal City was surprisingly limited. Five-star hotels existed, but the selection was small, often traditional and rarely pushed the boundaries of modern luxury. That’s changing fast. In 2025, a wave of new openings, high-profile renovations and bold hospitality concepts redefines what it means to stay in Rome. According to Mayor Roberto Gualtieri, Rome’s hotel occupancy far exceeds the European average, and Rome responded by investing more than 450 million euros in the city’s hotels in 2024 to meet the growing demand for exceptional experiences. Last month, I attended the inaugural edition of RISE Rome, a premier event dedicated to the city’s luxury hospitality sector, to catch up on the latest updates and newest trends shaping the city. Here are highlights from some of the city’s top stays.

Scottsdale, Arizona, Welcomes Spring with New Experiences, Events

Spring is a wonderful time to visit Scottsdale, with April weather about 56–86 degrees Fahrenheit —  not yet very hot, yet warm enough for swimming, biking and hiking. It is also the end of Scottsdale’s busy winter season, with hotels less crowded — and often less expensive, too. Spring is a season of fun under the sun in Scottsdale, with can’t-miss signature events, from cultural festivals and professional sporting competitions to collector car auctions and live music.
