Aeromexico announced delivery of its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner in the first half of August, becoming the first Mexican carrier to operate the aircraft. Dreamliner service will begin Oct. 1 on domestic flights from Mexico City (MEX) to Monterrey (MTY) and Tijuana (TIJ). It will then follow with a 12-day series of commercial Dreamliner services on its route between Mexico City and New York (JFK) Oct. 2–Oct. 13. From Oct. 14, Aeromexico will launch its inaugural flight between Mexico City and Tokyo Narita (NRT) with Dreamliner service and operate the route with 787s three times a week. The carrier will take delivery of its second and third Dreamliners in September and will use them to operate daily service between Mexico City and Paris (CDG) and some of its flights to New York. Aeromexico ordered a total of 19 Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 Dreamliners, scheduled to arrive gradually over the next few years. It will operate the 787-8 aircraft in a two-class configuration with 243 seats, with 32 in first class and 211 in economy.
