Turks & Caicos is synonymous with turquoise waters, white powdery beaches and a laid-back vibe. While there is no shortage of accommodations on the uber-popular Grace Bay Beach, Ocean Club Resorts stand out. With suites accommodating one couple all the way up to a large family or friend group and a bevy of pursuits to get you out on that azure Caribbean Sea, here’s why this resort duo is the perfect place for your next getaway:

You Can Stay at One, Play at Two Resorts
Sister resorts Ocean Club and Ocean Club West lie just a mile apart, accessible via either a complimentary shuttle or an enjoyable 20-minute walk along a picturesque beach. Between the two properties, guests have access to amenities including three freshwater pools, three restaurants, two fitness centers, three tennis courts, two spas and use of poolside grills. While each resort has its own vibe, you’ll find Ocean Club is more quiet and serene with a calmer beach, while Ocean Club West proves livelier and offers access to the area’s shops and restaurants.
Spacious Accommodations Feel Like Home
Regardless of the category, each condo-style suite features a kitchenette or kitchen fully equipped with utensils, cookware and serve ware — making it easy to stock your fridge and pantry. Options range from a studio suite for two up to a three-bedroom deluxe suite for up to eight guests, each available with ocean, pool or garden views. The one-bedroom deluxe oceanfront suite, for example, has a queen or king bed in the bedroom and a queen pull-out sofa bed in the spacious living area. You’ll also find a full kitchen, washer and dryer, one-and-a-half baths and a screened-in furnished patio perfect for taking your morning coffee or an evening cocktail.

The Beach Is Next-Level Gorgeous
Ocean Club Resorts border Grace Bay, a 12-mile stretch of beach, the most coveted on Turks & Caicos. Here, the sand is fine and soft and the water is clear and calm, with an unbelievable hue that just doesn’t seem real. It’s basically one big swimming pool, except for the fact that you just might see a school of grouper or other native fish pass by while you take a dip. The watersports center boasts plenty of complimentary nonmotorized water equipment for your use including noodles, floats, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. But the water is actually so salty here, you can effortlessly float on your back.
Diverse Dining Options Please Any Palate
At Ocean Club, Caribbean-inspired Cabana Bar & Grill serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Standouts include local conch prepared several ways: fried into fingers or fritters with spices, peppers and onions; simmered into chowder; and tossed with lime and habanero into tender ceviche. Freshly caught grouper can be jerked, blackened or pan-seared; and chicken is simmered with West Indian curry sauce and served over steamed rice. Also at Ocean Club, Opus Wine-Bar-Grill, open solely for dinner, specializes in local seafood as well as meats, pastas and curries; they also offer a set menu of Caribbean cuisine on Tuesday evenings, and Friday is oyster night. At Ocean Club West you can grab a table on the deck at Solana to sample tuna sashimi, dragon rolls and seared steaks; their more casual beach bar serves up poke bowls, pizza and jerk chicken wraps.

You’ll Find Some of the Best Snorkeling Here
Turks & Caicos is known for its amazing snorkeling (and diving). The staff at Ocean Club Resorts can help book a half-day snorkeling expedition with Caicos Dream Tours, one of the island’s top operators. The popular four-hour trip is offered twice daily, 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. or 1:30–5:30 p.m. The boat stops first at the Turks & Caicos barrier reef which, at 125 miles long, is the third-largest in the world. It offers opportunities to see up to 100 feet underwater and spot dolphins, sting rays, turtles and many species of tropical fish. Next you cruise along the shallow Caicos Bank before stopping at Half Moon Bay, home to the island’s rock iguanas. Snorkeling gear, sandwiches, snacks and fresh fruit are included, as are soft drinks, water, beer and rum punch (after snorkeling). The best part: The boat will pick you up and drop you off right on the beach close to Ocean Club Resorts, making a taxi or shuttle unnecessary.

Apr 6, 2025A World of Wellness
According to Merriam-Webster, wellness, a noun, is defined as “the quality or state of being in good health especially as an actively sought goal.” As the definition states and as the travel industry knows, wellness reaches far beyond just simply being not sick; for some, the idea of wellness is an entire lifestyle. Wellness is sought daily, at home and, for many, while traveling. The meaning of the word can also shape-shift depending on the person. Maybe for you it’s morning meditation every day, while for your neighbor it’s splurging on a luxury spa day while on a beach vacation.

As usual, we have a lot going on at Global Traveler. We are about to start our efforts with the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center Roundup Gala, to be held Oct. 24 in Philadelphia. The organization asked me to serve as cochair with John Kelley, a member of the Advisory Board of FXExpress Publications, Inc. Last year’s event surpassed that of 2023, so we have big shoes to fill for 2025.
