Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic announced its distinguished lineup of guest speakers for its upcoming Antarctica season.

“We believe that full immersion in a destination is the best way to experience it and giving our guests access to a rotating cast of speakers helps guide that immersion,” said Noah Brodsky, chief commercial officer, Lindblad Expeditions. “Our guest speakers offer in-depth insights and compelling conversations, helping guests to connect more deeply to the people, places, and wildlife along their journey, and we are honored to have these acclaimed individuals on board to enlighten travelers with their expertise.”

Here’s a look at the upcoming guest speakers:

• Mensun Bound, Triton Fellow in Maritime Archaeology at St Peter’s College, Oxford: Known as “Indiana Jones of the Deep,” Bound has conducted wreck surveys and excavations all over the world in a career spanning 40 years. He will be onboard Journey to Antarctica: The White Continent, departing Nov. 18.
• Robert Bindschadler, Fellow of American Geophysical Union, a NASA Emeritus Scientist and Senior Research Scientist at Morgan State University: Dr. Bindschadler’s career saw more than 30 years at NASA, and he maintains an interest in glaciers and ice sheets. He will be onboard Journey to Antarctica: The White Continent on Nov. 27.
• Christian Cooper, host and consulting producer for upcoming National Geographic series Extraordinary Birder: Cooper advocates for greater, safe access to green spaces and has traveled the globe to find birds and meet scientists and conservationists. He will be onboard Journey to Antarctica: The White Continent, departing Dec. 7.
• Peter Hillary, the first second-generation to climb Mount Everest: Hillary has climbed the Seven Summits and been on more than 40 mountaineering expeditions worldwide. He will join East Greenland: Wild Shores of the High Arctic on Sept. 6; and Antarctica, South Georgia, and the Falklands, departing Oct. 29.
