Life House, a new boutique hospitality brand, plans to open a new property in Nantucket next month. Life House, Nantucket follows similar hotels in Miami, Denver, Brooklyn and Chattanooga. The hotel, set within the historic Century House, is taking reservations for bookings beginning in August.
Century House’s history dates back nearly 200 years. The Coastal Federal-style mansion was built in the 1830s by a whaling captain. In the 1870s, the property became an inn. As such, the new Life House, Nantucket will boast a humble, inn-style theme, incorporating Nantucket’s native flora and fauna, as well as maritime details, into the décor.
Guestrooms are airy and light, decorated with local art and vintage artifacts. Amenities include walk-in showers, luxury linens and Le Labo bath products.Social spaces include a Living Room and Kitchen with communal refreshments, as well as a Garden Lounge with daybeds. Grab-and-go offerings outfit travelers for everything they might need for a day exploring Nantucket or at the beach.
“We’re excited to expand to Nantucket with Life House, Nantucket, and look forward to honoring the history of the island with our thoughtful approach to design,” said Rami Zeidan, founder and CEO, Life House. “We believe that understanding the history of a building and respecting the locale during our creative design process is what allows us to provide hotel guests and the community with authentic, locally-rooted experiences at all Life House properties.”
