ANDASI, the world’s largest underwater restaurant and the first underwater bar in Asia, is now open in Central Phuket. ANDASI is located within Aquaria Phuket, also recently opened and the largest and newest aquarium in Thailand. Diners are seated amidst more than 50,000 aquatic animals and more than 300 species.
The restaurant and aquarium are projects lead by Central Pattana. The aquarium’s design was inspired by Thai mythology and is split into several zones, including areas devoted to freshwater species, penguins and otters. The aquarium also includes the world’s first augmented reality art museum.

Tucked into a Lake Maggiore enclave overlooking the Gulf of Colmegna, Relais Villa Porta is an idyllic place to take in a side of the Italian Lakes region that’s different from buzzy Lake Como during high season. In 1820, it was built as a hunting lodge, and by the end of the century, was transformed into an inn by Leopoldo Casnedi. Over time, the surrounding parkland was further enhanced with rare plants collected by Pietro Porta, its second owner and botanist, as well as regular guests wanting to support his efforts.
