This spring, shake out your leathers, rev up your engines and head to Tennessee. May 19–22, Loretta Lynn’s Hurricane Mills ranch will be the setting for great tunes and plenty of bike-centric fun as the 5th Annual Tennessee Motorcycles & Music Revival gets underway. Sponsored by Harley-Davidson Motor Company, this fusion of bike rally and music festival is the largest of its kind in the state.
Attendees can take part in Harley-Davidson test rides, enjoy exciting stunt shows and motorcycle races, and peruse the BC Moto Invitational — a custom motorcycle showcase that will include custom motorcycles presented by top motorcycle craftsmen. There’s also a two-wheeled playground for off-road trail riding with an area designated specifically for young riders.
Check the website for the 2022 schedule of events and line-up of this year’s musical artists. Other activities will center around guided tours of Lynn’s Plantation Home and grounds, and plenty of opportunities to explore the ranch’s collection of museums and shops in the estate’s Western Town, including the Coal Miner’s Daughter Museum, Plantation Shop, Western Store, Grist Mill and Lady Loretta Boutique.
The 3,500-acre ranch estate is located an hour southwest of Nashville, and there’s plenty of lodging within driving distance — but if you want to really absorb the festival spirit, plan to stay on site. Ranch camping options range from cabins and Primitive Camping (your own tent on a reserved camping spot) to the Honky Tonk Central RV Camping area. Or, reserve a fully furnished Glamping Revival Tent (book by May 9) with showers and related facilities located nearby.

Dec 18, 2024Stroll the Captivating Barrios of the Chilean Capital
Santiago is divided into comunas (districts) and then into barrios (neighborhoods). Founded in 1541 by Spain, Santiago suffered repeatedly from earthquakes, floods and civil disorder. It is no wonder its barrios are unique and distinct — some with steep terrain crawling up into the foothills of the Andes, some sitting close to the urban center and boasting busy cafés, music clubs, restaurants, food markets, and new residential and commercial high-rises.

Dec 16, 2024Switzerland’s Lavaux Region Tempts Wine Lovers with Bottles They Can’t Get Back Home
Switzerland’s most famous exports — impeccably designed timepieces and luscious chocolate — are available around the world. Its wine, on the other hand, proves as elusive as an easy ascent up the Matterhorn. The Swiss understandably prefer to keep most of it for themselves, to sip après ski alongside bubbling fondue pots of melted Emmental. If you want to taste their homegrown beverage, imbued with crisp mountain air, intense sunlight and sparkling glacial waters, you might have to jump on a plane.
