With fishing adventures on the rise, luxury hotels around the world add activities for outdoor adventurers to enjoy. Below are three hotels offering must-do fishing options:
Since Rosewood Schloss Fuschl owns the fishing rights to Lake Fuschl, only guests and team members affiliated with the property have access to the lake’s fishing. Master fisherman Gerhard comes from a lineage of traditional Austrian fishermen, and has operated the fishery since 1987. Travelers can head out on the lake with Gerhard to learn about different fishing techniques, have the chance to catch 14 different species of fish including trout and saibling, learn the process of smoking a fish, and have a lakeside picnic with smoked fish smothered in horseradish sauce and served in the authentic way atop a local newspaper.

With the help of Kessler’s on-site concierge, guests can book a fly-fishing adventure with the lodge’s partner, Gore Creek Fly Fisherman. The Vail Valley offers a variety of rivers, lakes, creeks and tributaries perfect for fly fishing. Wade in the water or hop on a boat to catch some trout. Whether new to fishing or an expert, all guests are welcome and will be treated to an unforgettable experience.
Clear waters, shallow coastlines and more than 50 species of fish make Captiva Island and Sanibel, Florida, perfect fishing destinations. Whether your excursion is offshore, on the calming back bay or casting a line on the beach, these waters offer plenty of opportunities to catch fish. The newly rebuilt Bayview Fishing Pier is a great place to cast a line with no fishing license required. While here, take in views of Pine Island Sound. Travelers looking for larger catches can book a private fishing charter or let experienced captains guide you to the best spots.

May 14, 2025Hotel Van Zandt Review
One step onto Austin’s Rainey Street and you’ll feel like you’ve joined the cool kids at the best playground in the city. Just behind the cottage bars, pint-sized skyscrapers soar. One of them, Hotel Van Zandt, the Rainey district's pièce de resistance, beckons with a song-like spirit —apropos because the independently owned property, rife with music motifs, was named after beloved singer-songwriter Townes Van Zandt. Sixteen stories high, the hotel embodies Austin’s lust for music, manifesting with a vinyl corner; trumpet chandeliers; myriad musical references; replica vintage posters in frames; and its own live music venue, which doubles as its acclaimed restaurant, Geraldine’s. Don’t miss the mesmerizing installation of colorful origami-like birds composed from vinyl records that flitter from an old phonograph.
