Our neighbors to the north offer a lot more than snow-covered peaks and poutine. Find a home base at one of the destination’s great new hotels and set out to explore Canada’s rugged beauty, unique history and iconic cultural experiences.

Plus, getting to Canada is easier than ever, with new, upcoming flights via American Airlines and Air Canada.

Recently Opened
One of Canada’s newest gems is the Kananaskis Nordic Spa, located in the Canadian Rockies, offering a new approach to the Nordic Spa tradition.

In downtown Toronto, the new, boutique Broadview Hotel at Broadview and Queen is the first of its kind in the popular Riverdale area. It features a rooftop bar, vinyl record players in all rooms and outdoor terraces.

In Vancouver, the newly opened DOUGLAS, Autograph Collection pays homage to the original Douglas firs that laid the foundation for Vancouver’s economy, and the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver offers sophisticated accommodations in the city’s dynamic entertainment district.

Situated in a 100-year-old neo-Renaissance building in Montréal is the newly opened Le Mount Stephen, a luxurious hotel with floor-to-ceiling windows in all 90 rooms, private terraces, a bar and spa. Also in Montréal, The Hotel Monville is now open, with 4,000 square feet of meeting space near the Palais de Congrès. The grand Fairmont Queen Elizabeth recently reopened following a $140 million renovation.

Opening Soon
Alt Hotels by Germain Group plans to open this year in Calgary’s dynamic East Village with 155 guestrooms overlooking the Bow River. Another property is slated for Saskatoon, to open opposite the Remai Modern Art Gallery with views of the South Saskatchewan River.

Montréal is in the midst of a luxury hotel boom. One of its most anticipated properties includes the Four Seasons Hotel Montreal, an 18-story, mixed-use complex on the downtown corner of Rue De La Montagne and Rue Saint-Catherine Ouest.

Also in Montréal, Preferred Hotels & Resorts member Hotel Monville will offer a minimalist, modern vibe when it opens, with high-tech touches and outdoor terraces.

The most anticipated property in Toronto is undoubtedly Hotel X Toronto — a 406-room property including a rooftop pool and bar; a tanning lawn overlooking the city skyline and Lake Ontario; and a 90,000-square-foot sports center with indoor tennis courts, two heated pools, a golf simulator and a hot yoga space.

Marriott also has its eye on Vancouver, with W, The Ritz-Carlton and St. Regis plans in place for this year. Marriott will debut four properties in Toronto this year including St. Regis Toronto, opening in the fourth quarter as Canada’s first St. Regis, and The Marriott Markham, scheduled to open in April.

In British Columbia, Noble House Hotels & Resorts will soon open The Josie Hotel, the first ski-in/ski-out hotel to open in Canada in more than a decade.
